Artist Bio:

​

"I am an amateur artist, yearning to learn and tell stories of love and being alive in the now and here, as I am, through my paintings.

​

I was born and brought up in India, surrounded by music and art. I was always intrigued and awed by painters and their work but never had the opportunity to receive any training or paint during my career as a pediatric dentist—until now.

​

After living in WA for over 20 years, I finally created my first-ever oil painting in 2016 as a birthday gift for my husband, when I couldn’t think of anything else to give him. His reaction to my novice attempt was overwhelming. Since that day, the deep appreciation of my every effort, along with the encouragement—and gifts of canvas, paint, and brushes—from him and my two sons, my forever cheerleaders, gave me the courage to keep painting.

I love the language of oil paints but also appreciate the forgiveness of watercolors and ink. Most of my work is impressionistic and depicts love, compassion, and reflections of life through portrayals of togetherness, faces, objects, thoughts, or places that bring calmness to the heart.

I hope I can encourage others and learn from the artist in every being I meet."
